About

MyDataDance is the culmination of a kid’s passion for hip hop music and data. By bringing together visualizations created using objective datasets with the untold stories of hip hop’s rise in popularity, MyDataDance provides analytical insight using the world’s biggest genre as a springboard. At MyDataDance, the goal is to bridge the gap between popular perceptions of hip hop and the cultural context that it is rooted in.

The kid – Zeeshan

The reality is that hip hop is a method of storytelling that tackles controversial topics and provides a voice for communities and people that have faced marginalization and hardships. With this lens, data can be used to not only tell hip hop’s story, but also dive into the social issues that are brought to light by the honest expressionism that comes with the unique medium of hip hop.

Rather than looking for fame, views or clicks, the objective is to further explore the world today by using data to unwrap the universal language of music.
